What is Global Education Online to the Lives of the Indigenous Learners?

August 2007,was the month, where my humble capacity as a seconadry School Teacher received a long distance call from United Kingdom. It was late afternoon, where I have to get some snacks from the canteen of the school I was teaching, because of a very exhausting day doing instructional activites with my students. As I answered the phone, the caller introduced himself as one of the facilitators of the online learning community, asking me for a commitment to do things for my students to get enrolled and learn. At first I was a bit skeptical of the offer, and wondered how they get my name, until such time that more calls were done, and frequent e-mails enough to convince me to commit to the so called”Global Education through Rafiki” one of the facilities being used as the channels of the partnerfinding@globalgateway for the so called online Learning-Global Dimension.

To me the concept of Global Education is not new .When I was a VSO-volunteer, assigned as a Teacher in Mongolia, I was aware that as a VSO-volunteer upon coming home ,I have to continue do the advocacy of Global Education learning community online. The principle is,  learning online using the technology that the community can offer, and what is wonderful is we are bringing the school known to the educative world of learning giving access for us teachers and students to talk and discuss lessons together with international students and Teachers online. My fellow teachers and students were very happy for the opportunity, where our students learned computer skills, in thier way of communicating foreign students, and able to discuss issues about the importance of sharing cultures and respect them, how to deal with Global Warming, learning how to measure their carbon footprint, join the Darfur Issues, and the Enterprising skills they learned together online.
